Wikiloc, a platform to discover and share the best outdoor routes with currently 5,028,201 members that explore and share 13,363,391 outdoor tracks and 24,115,587 photos.
The client needed a redesign of the user experience and graphic design in order to update, retain and increase users. In six months, the platform increased 0.5m of registered users and Apple chose Wikiloc as an App of the day at the Apple Store and won the Best Fitness App from Garmin CIQ Awards 2018 for the Wikiloc app for to Connect IQ.
Project was developed in-house at Wikiloc, where, together with the team of engineers, the research and testing was made with users in order to identify which needs and implementations should be prioritized in the MVP.
The company had accumulated statistics throughout its 10-year activity, therefore, a large number of browsing patterns and interactive behaviors were available, we knew what users liked and what not.
Apart from the enhancement of old functionalities, we also designed and implemented some new features, such as statistics, livetracking, ratings, comments, or interactive track elevation. With the aim of generate a community and expand the operating capacity of the business model for payment users.
The feedback and feedback from the users was very positive, the user interface was focused on the realization of the activity, and the graphic decisions such as the contrast, the size of the font or the chromatic range, were the consequence of the peculiarities and conditions that appear in the use of the app.
